Meet the Board

A collaborative group of professionals who are deeply passionate about driving local and regional economic growth through effective and innovative workforce development initiatives.

The Board

Mid-Carolina Workforce Development Board is appointed by the chief elected official in accordance with state criteria for five counties in our region. The board is comprised of industry leaders, educators, community advocates, and government representatives who bring diverse perspectives and expertise to the table.

At MCWDB, we uphold a balanced representation to ensure effective governance and strategic decision-making. Our board composition adheres to the following principles:

Chairperson Selection:
Our chairperson of the board is a private sector member, who is elected by fellow board members. This individual plays a pivotal role in providing leadership and direction to the board, ensuring that our initiatives align with the needs and priorities of our community.

Private Sector Majority:
At least 51% of our board members are private sector business members. These individuals are strategically chosen based on their representation of county and economic sectors within our region.

Public Sector Representation:
The remaining board members represent various partner agencies from the public sector. These members bring valuable insights and perspectives from government entities, educational institutions, and community organizations.

MCWDB strives to have a board that is representative, inclusive, and capable of driving meaningful impact in our region's workforce development efforts.
